Hi, I’m Hammad.Santa Monica → NYC
01Santa Monica → LA & Las Vegas

I got started early.

I’m from Santa Monica. I tested out of high school at 15 and was working full-time in sales by my late teens, between LA and Las Vegas.

At Global Security Concepts, I built outbound business and worked across pitching, negotiation, and closing. I spent about a year in Las Vegas at 18. I also started New Vision Marketing Group to help small businesses with their marketing.

02UC Riverside

Then I went to college.

I studied business administration at UC Riverside and graduated in 2024. While I was there, I started Highlander Consulting Group, a student consulting organization working with startups.

03New York · 2024 onward

Then came New York.

I moved to New York in 2024 to join BlackRock. I work in private markets product development and strategic initiatives, helping evaluate and launch investment products.

I was 20 and didn’t know anyone here. I wanted to make friends outside work, so I started putting together events for other people who were new to the city or starting their careers.

04Analyst Connect → Anchor

So I started hosting things.

At first, it was called Analyst Connect. We brought interns, new grads, and people early in their careers together in New York and LA. That eventually became Anchor.

We’ve now hosted events in New York, LA, and San Francisco. I work on everything from finding venues and partners to getting people to actually show up.

I want to keep working on what happens between events too. You can get along with someone for a few hours and then never see them again. I’d like Anchor to help people keep making plans together.

05Building toward 2027

Next up: SF Startup Week.

I’m also working with a team on SF Startup Week for 2027. We’re putting together a week of events across the city, with startups, investors, and local communities hosting their own events.

We’re early. Right now we’re talking to hosts and partners, and looking for more people to help build it. If there’s a part you’d want to work on, reach out.

If you want to work on something together or just say hi, you can email me below.
